City Hall Square – Vilnius, Lithuania

The City Hall Square is one of the oldest City squares that is located in Vilnius Old Town, Didzioji Street. The triangular City Hall Square appeared in the place of the former market square, which already existed in the 15th century. The noblemen and merchants built their houses around the square; it was also the place for punishments (a pole stood in front of the City Hall, which was used to whip the offenders), markets, and social life.
