Holbeinsteg

Holbeinsteg – Frankfurt, Germany

Planned in 1990 as temporary replacement of the "Eiserner Steg" which had been dismantled for restoration, the Holbein Bridge quickly found a place in the hearts of the inhabitants of Frankfort, so that the suspension bridge remained at its location. The steel supporting structure spans the Main River with a span of 142 m and a total length of 210 m. The width of the pedestrian bridge amounts to 4 m. Two A-shaped towers with a total height of 32.7 m carry two main cables on which are affixed the inclined hanger cables. The steel weight amounts to 458 tons.
