

The parish church of Götzens, constructed 1772-1775, is a true sacral gem southwest of Innsbruck, by the road to Axams. It is said to be the most beautiful rococo church in Tirol. The arrangement of the five altars, one behind the other, is reminiscent of the rococo-style design of theater sets. Light, delicate hues, colorless windows and rich stuccowork by the Wessobrunn School lend the church a cheerful airiness despite its exceedingly pompous interior.
