Tanjong Rhu Suspension Footbridge – Singapore

Singapore's first suspension footbridge was built in 1998. The bridge spans the Geylang River and allows residents of Tanjong Rhu to cross over to the National Stadium. Singapore's first suspension footbridge was officially opened by Koo Tsai Kee, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Defence on Tuesday, 4 August 1998. It was designed by the Public Works Department (now known as CPG Corporation Pte Ltd) and completed in July 1998. It was built at a cost of S$5.1 million and is 130 m long and 4 m wide.
